On May 16th the Sterling Navy Knights went on a trip to the Fort Dix military base to explore the nature of flying and to visit VR-64.  Students were able to interact with people that worked the plane, ask questions, and learn the importance of working as a team.  During the trip, the students were able to interact with an LCDR, Petty Offiers, and an Airman.

Following the tour students were able to discuss their likes/dislikes of the JROTC Program with officers  and received some great advice!

On May 23rd the NJROTC Students visited the Valley Forge Freedoms Foundation.  The Cadets toured the campus and walking trail including the Medal of Honor Grove.  The Grove had many recipients represented from several different states, there was also a section where recipients without American residency were recognized.  The students ate an MRE (Meals Ready to Eat) lunch with their tour guide.  The students enjoyed learning about the science behind the cooking mechanisms and how many soldiers used the packets while serving in the military.  During the last part of the trip students visited the building where Medals of Honor are kept, they got to see many medals from past recipients and how the medal of honor recipients could change their perspectives.
