New Student Registration

Welcome to Sterling High School!

Sterling High School has a long-standing reputation for excellence. We hope you will take an active role in your child's education and share in the many opportunities offered by the Sterling High School District.

To attend Sterling High School, a student must be domiciled within the school district: Magnolia, Somerdale, Stratford, or the sending districts of Hi-Nella and Laurel Springs.

STEP 1 - GATHER REQUIRED DOCUMENTS TO VERIFY RESIDENCY:

RESIDENTS OF HI-NELLA & LAUREL SPRINGS: Please contact your Board of Education Office to obtain a Student Permit. The Student Permit is required to enroll your student with Sterling High School.

PROPERTY OWNERS: To verify your address, please send a copy of your current mortgage statement or recent settlement statement AND two (2) additional documents from the following list:

  - Utility bill (electric, gas, heating oil, telephone, internet, cable, and/or water bill)
- Insurance bill (homeowners, renters, auto, life, and/or health insurance)
- Vehicle registration or voter registration
- Current bank statement, credit card statement, paycheck or pay stub
- Official mail sent to you by a county, state, or federal government office or agency

TENANTS: To verify your address, please send a copy of your current lease agreement (listing names of all occupants including the student) AND two (2) additional documents from the following list:

- Utility bill (electric, gas, heating oil, telephone, internet, cable, and/or water bill)
- Insurance bill (homeowners, renters, auto, life, and/or health insurance)
- Vehicle registration or voter registration
- Current bank statement, credit card statement, paycheck or pay stub
- Official mail sent to you by a county, state, or federal government office or agency

IF YOU ARE RESIDING WITH A RELATIVE: Please contact the Registrar for the required forms.

IF YOU ARE NOT AN OWNER, TENANT, OR RESIDING WITH A RELATIVE: Please contact the Registrar.

STEP 2 - GATHER REQUIRED STUDENT DOCUMENTS:
  • Parent ID (current driver's license or passport preferred)
  • Birth Certificate (or official document to verify date of birth for the student)
  • Transfer Card with a SID # (for students transferring from a New Jersey school)
  • Academic Records: Transcript, Report Card, Grades in Progress, Attendance, and Discipline)
  • Immunization Records
  • IF APPLICABLE: All court orders pertaining to custody or guardianship of the student
  • IF APPLICABLE: Current IEP (if your student has an Individualized Education Plan)
  • IF APPLICABLE: Current 504 Plan (if your student has accommodations under Section 504)

STEP 3 - COMPLETE THE ONLINE PRE-REGISTRATION:

STEP 4 - SEND REQUIRED DOCUMENTS TO THE REGISTRAR:

  • UPLOAD via the Online Pre-Registration above (preferred method)
  • EMAIL to the Registrar: [email protected] (preferred method)
  • IN PERSON BY APPOINTMENT if you are unable to submit documents electronically, please contact the Registrar to make an appointment to bring your documents to the school. Appointments are recommended. 

CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION: Once you have completed the above steps, you will be contacted by the Registrar to schedule a visit with your student's assigned Guidance Counselor. Your student's first day of school will be determined during this visit.
