
The Sterling High School District announces the upcoming retirement of Superintendent Matthew Sheehan, effective January 1, 2027. Mr. Sheehan has dedicated over 35 years to education, the last 24 years plus of service to the Sterling High School District. Mr. Sheehan has served as Superintendent since March 5, 2020. Throughout his tenure, he has demonstrated strong, steady leadership and an unwavering commitment to student success, staff development, and community engagement. During his time as Superintendent, Mr. Sheehan has helped guide the district through periods of growth and change while maintaining a clear focus on educational excellence. His leadership has had a lasting and meaningful impact on the Sterling community. The Sterling High School District extends its sincere appreciation to Mr. Sheehan for his years of service and dedication. We wish him the very best in his retirement and in his next chapter.
