Superintendent

Supt Mr. Napoleon

It is a pleasure to serve the Sterling High School District as Superintendent this academic year 2018-2019. I look forward to working with students, staff, administration and all the stakeholders in this great community so we can collectively carry out the vision and mission for the Sterling High School District.

The Strategic Planning Committee will be in its third year ensuring the district’s commitment to excellence. The committee has identified areas of emphasis that will improve the district and is currently planning strategies to meet those areas. Please visit our website for the most updated vision, mission, and areas of improvement.

Phase II construction of the relocation of several athletic fields, Warwick Road sidewalk improvements and upgrades to the Foods Classroom are some of the projects currently being worked on throughout the summer of 2018 and into the 2018-2019 school year. These projects are significant upgrades to correct facility problems in the school building and grounds. The district will continue to upgrade security features in 2018-2019 which will include, but not limited to exterior fencing installation, security windows and electronic call system in the front of the building and all new exterior door replacement.

The 2018-2019 school year presents our students with unprecedented opportunities to learn. Sterling High School is committed to ensuring students who graduate are prepared for life after high school. Over the past four years, Sterling High School has made tremendous advances.

  • For the second year in a row, Sterling High School’s Advanced Placement passing scores have surpassed the state and global averages. More students are involved with the Advanced Placement Program than ever before.
  • Camden County Office of Education’s QSAC Monitoring rated Sterling High School as “High Performing” in 2016. We look forward to our 3 year QSAC Monitoring during the 2018-2019 school year.
  • The Class or 2018 was offered scholarships that exceeded 9.1 million dollars.
  • Ms. Mimma Cammarata, Sterling High School Italian Teacher, was named Camden County Teacher of the Year for 2017-2018.
  • By the 2019-2020 school year, every student attending Sterling High School will have a 1:1 device.
  • Sterling High School continues to improve in the area of career and college exploration.

The Sterling High School District will continue to offer our students an opportunity to earn college credit and expand their learning experiences through School Choice Programs and Dual Credit Opportunities. Structured Learning Experiences, Allied Health and Health Science, Graphic Design, Early Child Development, NJROTC and TV Production are programs that prepare our students for college and the working world. Our students earn hundreds of college credits through these learning activities.

Beyond the classroom, students have access to a wide range of extracurricular experiences and are encouraged to widen their world by taking full advantage of the diverse offerings. These extracurricular experiences promote respect and allow children to grow mentally and physically.

My greeting to the 2018-2019 school year would not be complete without mentioning our highly qualified staff. It is a pleasure to work with such committed staff members who are interested in advancing student learning. The entire staff prides itself on delivering the best instruction.

I invite parents and families of this district to be actively involved in Sterling High School’s school activities and events as often as possible. We value your talent, ideas, involvement, engagement and support for learning. Together we can achieve success!

Thank you again for visiting the Sterling High School website and have a great school year.
