Welcome to Sterling High School
Dear Sterling Parents and Guardians:
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year. We look forward to meeting you on campus and serving your students throughout the year. One of our goals as a school community is to celebrate high school as we partner with students to create new traditions and memories. This school year marks a new beginning with the launch of a new academic schedule which was inspired by our U-Knighted Vision Strategic Plan.
Our students and staff will function in an a.m. and p.m. wheel schedule where they participate in six of eight full year classes each day of a four-day cycle. As a school community, we will learn this new rhythm together and take advantage of the benefits to the schedule. The middle of the day portion of the schedule where the lunch period is located will be called Knightime. During Knightime, students will have the privilege to choose other activities opposite their lunch. This open campus opportunity for student choice will provide new freedoms to the students never seen before within the walls of The Castle. You can find more information on the academic schedule on the school website under the Student tab.
The next opportunity to be on campus will be at one of our student athletic events or practices which will begin full sessions the third full week of August. The first student school day is September 3rd, which will be the first of a full week of student half day bell schedules. Please review the 2024-2025 school calendar located on the school website. Please note the new bell schedules and updated student start time of 7:40 a.m. with an entrance bell of 7:35 a.m. We will then welcome parents and guardians to our Back to School Night on September 10th.
This fall we welcome new staff members in History, Special Education, Business, Media Center Specialist, ROTC, and to our Paraprofessional staff. We will introduce these individuals later this summer via email and video blast. Please be sure to view the Castle Connection videos that are sent home throughout the school year. Additionally, information is frequently posted via our Sterling HS Facebook account. This serves as an additional tool for the school to share important information and student recognition.
