In-School Support

Sterling High School has partnered with agencies to help provide additional student support focused on mental health and wellness.  Programs and services are offered during the school day (3A or 3B) and free of cost to families.

Activities include: Silver Steppers, a majorette-style dance and step team that focuses on learning dances and steps that will be performed at pep rallies throughout the year; and Mindful Movement, a skill-based group that helps to create a mindful space where students can learn mindfulness tools, including intentional connection, active listening, mindful communication, and goal setting.

More information about these activities is available here: Wellness Activities 3A & 3B

First Children Services – Individual counseling services provided by a licensed clinician

Bridge to Balance – (Skill-based/Resiliency Group) Bridge to Balance will focus on approaches designed to help individuals develop essential skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and mindfulness. The goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where high school students can learn and practice these skills, empowering them to cope effectively with challenges and gain essential skills to encourage growth and maturity to become leaders in their school communities and beyond.  A licensed clinician serves as the group facilitator.

After-School Support

Sterling staff will be facilitating after-school activities that focus on connectedness and wellness.  Activities include: Knitting & Crochet, Cake Decorating, Scrapbook/Journaling, Gaming & E-Sports, Jewelry Making, and Movement & Dance.
