Principal’s Message

Dear Sterling Parents and Guardians:

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year.  We look forward to meeting you on campus and serving your students in a year celebrating the high school experience.  One of our goals as a school community is to celebrate high school as we reestablish customs and partner with students to create new traditions and memories.  The opening week of school will be filled with activities to inspire students and staff to be active participants in the opportunities only available during these formative years.

During the year, we will also continue to prioritize our commitment to equity as we provide professional development to staff and conduct student orientation experiences where courageous conversations are celebrated.  Furthermore, we have increased our awareness on mental health and are developing a mental health committee who will assist in establishing after school activities that support student interests and contribute to mental wellness.

Freshman Orientation is Tuesday, August 24th at 6:30 p.m. entering in the New Gym at the rear of the school building.  Additionally, we are offering a second orientation session at 7:30 p.m. for sophomore students and any other student who was not on campus last school year.

The next opportunity to be on campus will be at one of our student athletic events kicking off with our first home football game on Thursday, September 2nd with full competition for all fall sports beginning the week of September 7th.   The first student day of school is September 7th commencing an opening week with half day/early dismissals for students.  We will welcome all parents and guardians to our Back to School Night on September 14th.  Please review the 2021-2022 school calendar located on the school website.

Please join me in welcoming our new staff members:

                Sean Dillon – Art Teacher

                Jason Howe – Science Teacher

Stephanie Werner – World Language Teacher

                Erin Dever – Guidance Secretary
